Water Users/Managers

The Remote Sensing Hydrology lab works on several projects that are directly applicable to water users and groundwater managers. Click each link for more information:

• Estimating groundwater use at the field scale (resolution of ~1 mile or better) for improved groundwater management plans and groundwater models 

• Hydrogeologic characterization with a towed geophysical system that images sands and clays to a depth of ~250 feet

• Modeling current and future land subsidence as a function of pumping and changing groundwater levels

• Estimating changes in groundwater levels with greater spatial granularity using Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar

• Delineating zones within a field that are water-stressed and not water-stressed
